(urth) "friendly tree" in Calde of hte Long Sun

Oh yeah, in that scene where Silk talks to the Outsider in Calde, where Kypris is identified as Hyacinth and mother, it says, "With help from a friendly tree, he walked the stony rim of the pool to a swinging seat facing the water." epiphany 220
 
This personification of trees even in Long Sun is something else, even though we can just assume he used the tree for support.
