.  There was an interesting article entitled "Pan, Aristaeus, Priapus" which for me confirms that Silk a clone of Typhon and that Tussah was also a clone of Typhon. But I still say that Silk was also the born of Kypris/Bird of the Woods, as impossible as that seems.

I tend to think of Silk as a son of Typhon, purely, purely, purely from a text based analysis in which Kypris is equated with the mother, EXCEPT for the idea that Typhon would want to preserve his own face, and Silk shows up at the very end with his face on Typhon, which would indicate at least that cloning is possible.  What is your idea of who and what Tick is?

So we come to the same conclusion, but yours is from an article entitled Pan, Aristaeus, and Priapus ... but I lean more heavily toward him being a genetic son of Typhon because of the "line of succession" and heir motiffs mentioned in Long Sun.  I still think Gene leaves us enough without having to reference the myths (in everything except his Latro books).

Do you see how the text of Long Sun might favor a son interpretation more?  Is there a way for Silk to be both a son of Kypris and Typhon himself in the text?

(remember all my assumptions usually start with an inexplicable comment in the text or an application of an idea - ie - taking hybridization in chapter 1 of short sun as far as it could go, etc.)

At least we are in complete agreement about Kypris being the Mother.
