The above is a circular argument.  We have no reason to suppose ab initio that Rudesind and Dorcas’s husband resemble Father Inire, even if they are old and short like a million other human men of Nessus, and therefore no reason to suppose that Wolfe would avoid mentioning it.

In fact, the only time we see someone who clearly seems to be Father Inire in disguise, he is wearing a mask that entirely covers his head.  The likely implication is that Inire is identifiable as a cacogen when his face is visible.  Does the text suggest anywhere that Inire can convincingly pass for human when his face is not hidden?  [He does communicate with Agia, as noted in his letter, but there he implies that enhanced interrogative techniques were used.]
