It is true that just because Jonas recognizes a drop-down ceiling, it 
doesn't mean it is a ship. Presumably, he's seen plenty of drop-down 
ceilings under lots of other circumstances. Drop down ceilings are a 
useful architectural tool in modern buildings.

Here's another argument against it being a ship. Severian _grew up_ in 
an abandoned spaceship. If he never saw a drop-down ceiling, presumably 
they don't use them.
