I thought the character's speech patterns were recognizably those of George
W. Bush as well. I don't think anything of Wolfe's attitude toward the
former president can or should be divined from the character, though--I
think Wolfe, who very obviously enjoys characters with idiosyncratic speech,
was just having fun.
