(urth) Sev's silence about Catherine

C/Katherine's identity has always puzzled me - the same name just can't
be a coincidence. I guess what I find weird is that Catherine is Sev's
mother (if I remember correctly), but the feast/ritual of Katherine has
been going on for generations. I'm inclined to identify them as the
same woman in some sense . . . but how? The only thing I can think of
is how Typhon, when he first meets Severian, speaks of a rabble-rousing
troublemaker from the past - which is, of course, Severian himself, when
he comes back as the new Sun. Is it possible that something similar is
happening with Katherine? That Severian somehow starts the ritual which
he later participates in as a young man? I'm grasping at straws here .
