Lol. Actually reading Wolfe makes me feel very stupid and uneducated and 
it's through the effort of discovering these hidden connections that I feel 
slightly less stupid. :)

And I'm sure they are there, all writers know far more about their 
characters and story that ever makes it onto the printed page.

  Like any good magician, Wolfe won't reveal any of his "tricks" lest it 
tarnish the glamor. Instead, he pays the questioner a kind compliment to 
sidetrack the discussion. Very clever!
