So he is not so much a type of Christ, but a "type" of Redeemer / Savior. One might as well say that Severian is a type of Krishna, or Zoroaster, or any of the other historical figures that fit into the heroic savior archetype. <br>

I will look for them; I don't see enough to consider Severian to be a parallel of Christ without really bending the definition / nature of Christ. I guess this will eventually turn into a theological dispute as to the nature of the biblical Christ!<br>
