splendor, brightness, fame, prestige. That's the meaning in koine. In
earlier attic Greek, doxa meant opinion.<br><br>

It's not one or the other. It's context. In the Church, doxology means
"word of praise," and orthodoxy means "correct
praise" or "correct opinion." The Russian church is called
"pravo-slavnie," "true praise," or in English
"ortho-dox."<br><br>
