1) No, I don't think its a tiny nitpick, because one thing is assuming a supernatural event in which miracles do occur and another is subverting scientific facts or accepted present theories. Miracles are outside science - either you believe in them or not. Science is another thing. And Wolfe does try to make the science plausible.<BR>

2) I don't know if the New Sun series is supposed to be hard sci-fi, or if even Wolfe sees it that way. But as I said I believe he does try to make everything as plausible as possible.
