<DIV>I find Roy's point about Able's reprimanding the stable hands as quite legitimate. I also found Able's treatment of the stable hands as quite legitimate. The fact that someone mistreats you does not give you leave to mistreat someone (even if 4 legged and of subhuman intelligence). And, thank you for forcing me to think of it, someone's being in your power AND there being no one else around does indeed create an obligation (gimu?) to take care of them. Although I have read various books on Norse mythology as well, I might quibble with the description of Able having behaved identically to Odin's heroes, though I do acknowledge they are a "funhouse?" mirror (thank you Roger Zelazny) of each other. I do not. I see this as a justifiable difference in view that gives flavor to the tale and my memories of it.</DIV>
