As part of an unrelated project, we've made "Gene Wolfe dropcaps" to

horror & vampire themed dropcaps, taking more of a broad illustrative
approach than the Folio Society dropcaps by Sam Weber.

They're pretty neat-looking. (I'm fond of the ones which manage to
evoke a trypopohobia vibe - 'V' for some reason really triggers
trypophobia or vagina dentata vibes when you ask Midjourney for
'horror'.)
