This part is also where he points out some difficulties with Veil's
hypothesis and finishes with "I call it Liev's Postpostulate. I am Liev
and I have left."
I think perhaps he is referring to the near genocide of the aborigines
by the second and third waves of human colonists. (The first wave, who
became the Shadow Children, were assimilated - they 'went native', one
might say.) Liev is Veil in reverse. Genocide of the aborigines as the
opposite of genocide of the humans. (Can one call it genocide if
invaders from space are obliterated? Perhaps not.)
