Good catch, Marc. It fits in with your "relaxation model" The abos being a closer approximation to earth humans than shadow children, so what came before shadow children?

As the Old Wise One remembers-  "We were mostly long, and lived in holes between the roots of trees". 

Could suggest a plant-like origin or perhaps fungi is a better analogy as this species leans toward the parasitic rather than primary producer niche.

Speaking of parasites, this certainly does seem to be echoed in Inhumi evolution.  There is the suggestion that before they were the parasitic reptilians (who reproduce amphibiously) they had a parasitic vine existence. Had you considered your relaxation model to help us understand Inhumi also?
