(urth) Thea's Identity

Are any known clones, such as the uhlans, also described with triangular
faces? If so I can't find it.

(1) We have no *particular *reason to think any of the four is a clone
except Thais.

(2) Severian does use the phrase "akin as brothers" when he means
"clones," but the uhlans are similar in age. He wouldn't say that for
different cohorts.

(3) Pega and Pelagia makes sense based on Thais and Thea and because one
is owned by the other. Are there any such pairs we can *disprove?*

(4) Severian himself is problematic. 'Nuff said.

(5) I can't help but think of Yeat's Byzantium as a symbol of stasis in
the context of 5HC and cloning and the Commonwealth.

(6) The Thea/Thecla relationship is a pain too. But we do know they are
related somehow, and yet they look different. I'd expect Thea to be the
clone, however.

(7) Would the number 4 have any significance?

My idea is that if there were a naming convention for clones it might be that they are named from a diminutive portion of their cell donor's name. Thus Thea is derived from Thecla. This might explain their mysterious "half-sister" relationship. A clone could be be considered half-sister, half-self in a certain way of thinking.

We have Pega whose mistress was Pelagia and who is chastised by Odilo for mischaracterizing their relationship. We have the mysterious Thais, who resembles the khaibit of Thea (perhaps Thais is wordplay for "Thea's"). And we have Severian who has sunken cheeks and is of mysterious parentage, but traces his ancestry to a mausoleum with a couple open caskets and a few sealed ones (that number Five is likely significant).
