Look at it as the unlikelihood of negative accomplishments:
Earth has had several 8 figure atrocities in the last 150 years, and the
extinction of the human race is still do-able.
Humanity is scattered beyond the ability of Urthlings to wipe them out,
and there may not even be 8 figures of Urthlings left.
