(urth) Father Inire as Dionysus

I like more this view - it makes sense if you remember how often
Hethor is referred to as an "old sailor", how he is afraid to be recognized
by Jonas. There are small details that speak a lot about his past
on the spaceships (his "khaibit" or whatever that was killed
by other crew). He has an access to high technology (his "mirrors")
but on lesser level than Inire.

It makes no sense to build his human biography by such bits and scrapes
if in fact he would be Inire.

I think that Wolfe likes a lot to make the different personages to
mirror each
other in some imperfect way. There is a sort of hierarchy (more imperfect -
less imperfect). It fits very well the (Christian) concept that Evil is
a distorted Good.
For example, the boatman loves dead Dorcas. Hethor has no love,
and is more deeply mired in evil. Still, he is strongly attracted by Agia,
and maybe not completely lost. Anyway, much worse cases are possible.

Thea and Thecla are similar in some respects and different in others.

Could not be the "way of air" just using flyers?
