Typhon wanted a son.  If he were a space monster, surely he would hardly have cared about the son of some random Urthling?

The mandragora?  Do you mean the homunculus in a jar Severian found, probably thousands – and certainly hundreds – of years after Typhon?  I don’t see what that has to do with him.
“The prime calcula... His citadel” is surely the Prime Calculator, a component of Mainframe, a sort of primary ALU.  Echidna is losing control of Marble when she blurts out these sentence fragments.
