I did mean it as an affinity, not a difference.

When I first read the BSS, the references to her hair did make an  
impression. What is it about red hair that impresses modern men,  
whereas it was traditionally despised? Just the other day I was  
reading a mystery book in which the main investigator on one occasion  
decides to write what he knows about the case, and what is one of the  
items? '(her name): red-headed prostitute', when in fact the colour of  
her hair played no role in the whole story.

But for some reason at the tine I interpreted 'sorrel' as having to do  
with the texture or shape rather than the colour. Go figure.
