I agree with what I think is James' philosophy that one should apply their
critical analysis most stringently upon one's self and one's own theories 
and ideas. Devoting one's criticism solely to the ideas of others is smug, 
cheap and easy. My impression is that James is not a hypocrite and that he
self-reviews and self-critiques to a very high level. I look up to his 
example.
