amen.  no, no independent comfirmation of hybridization. I just think the theme of homecoming being impossible with time is prevalent in the text (the golden time with Seawrack, things are never the same as they were from Horn's musings in OBW) (horn can't return, silk can't go back with Hy, men can't return even in the future of their world) only the comment, "I like the spruce and the staff, too." from Gene.  That's it.  

But yes, the hybridization is super key for instant speciation and MY understanding of how Green can be Urth, without it and the weird properties of trees "I got nothing".  (Green feels more young than new, but jungle as eden is somewhat interesting)

I wanted to thank everyone for this last round of analysis, James, Gerry, Lee, everyone, for finally having some discussion without the inherent "you are using those quotes wrong" hostility this topic always summons.  Thanks, I appreciate it.
