I think I would prefer all top posting too. 
It seems the only real problem is the mixing.  So often the quoted convesation is way out of wack after a few of these happen in one thread. Then it is impossible to make sense of.

I suppose the right thing to do would be to follow the convention set in the existing thread, or edit out all that trailing stuff.  Ten one can easily figure out if it is top down or bottom up.
