My only comment here is that Wolfe is talking about twenty years after writing 5HoC, and has forgotten the name of the novella; I think he has also forgotten which group of pre-colonisation inhabitants was called the Shadow Children.

I think making the abos the Shadow Children is untenable for a lot of reasons.
