And it's a great pun. 

Wouldn't want to overinterpret, but if Latro is hunting (seeking) something in a world where gods present themselves to him daily, what is he seeking except which god to worship? Indeed, which god would a Christian worship if he lived before Christ?

The last to know was me, reading this just now!  I thought it meant "hunter"
and was a reference to his desire to regain his memories.  I missed the pun.
