That's still subject to Severian's bias. Beccan's lingering imprint was 
also happy at being reunited with his daughter, and was eager to have 
the rest of the family join them in the beast's belly. With Severian's 
vivid recall magnifying that induced sense of well-being and compoudning 
it with his natural joy at what he takes as reunion with his first love, 
with no immediate downside, it is not surprising he records it as 
rapturous.
