Only the jews, a very small part of the world's population, worshipped the 
God of the OT as such, and they certainly went to end talking about his 
wrath, jealousy and favouritisms, which aren't exactly benign traits.

Angelic beings, fallen or not, not necessarily devils.
But how many pagan gods considered evil by christians were not considered 
evil by their own worshippers? Many deities were worshipped out of fear. 
It's one thing to give worship to, other to consider good.
To worship and consider good something which actually is evil raises the bar 
quite a bit.
