It is only theft if it isn't consentual.  The mistake that Socialists
make is when they remove the consent.  

The parallel problem with libertarianism is that a free market is an
unstable state.  (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unstable for a
reasonable 50,000ft view of instability).

I don't have a solution to either problem beyond Bill and Ted's.
