Sure they are. That is, they are of Faerie, as much as they can be while still being aliens on an alien planet. They're green, aren't they? 

Gods, fairies, same thing when it comes to the most ancient tales. It's about otherworldliness. Wolfe seems to see connections, not distinctions, when he writes in the fantastic or mythic mode.

it really notches the idea down.
Even that a Stag can be a god (is that right) doesn't really jibe because teh neighbors are not gods.
