It generates passions regarding the whole "guns or no guns" issues that are completely alien to europeans.


That's how I took your post, and I thought it was an interesting insight. I didn't take it as a dis on Americans.  Of course, not all of our families were even here during the wild west, but it's suffused into the culture, for sure.
