TORTURE!!!
I can't watch it either because I just started season 4 dvds last night.
I've haven't watched any regularly programmed TV show in my adult life, I'd thought I might change that up for BSG, now that I finally bit the bullet and hooked up cable, but the DVD's came out too late.
what a show. I've never seen any film/series that was as much like a long novel. I mean, one that worked as well.
anyone here NOT checked it out? It's definitely worthwhile, and that's the only TV plug you'll get from me.
I can't help but think, as of Season 4, episode 2, (as far as I've seen) that these guys have read New and Long Suns. some of the themes they've teased at are quite similar. False pantheon, One True God, Cyclicality of creations. These are, as Jordon reminds me, probably just standard SF tropes, but I can't help but think there may be an influence.
I also can't help but think, for the same reasons, that Clive Barker read BotNS before writing Imagica. Has anyone here read that? That's one of the only novels I've read multiple times. Absolutely love it. Haven't read much of Barker since then. I figure that must be his masterstroke.
