I say:
Having considered your theory for a few years now, I am convinced that the hybidizing conversation does in fact refer to the need for a merging of the Neighbors with the Earthlings in order for the colonies to survive...and Horn, as a Christ-figure, was that merging. But I am certain he was not eaten by the tree. It's not the tree, its the greenbuck.
