Another explanation might be that Sharon is in California. Under the
Kololahi = fictionalised Tonga assumption, that would put her 3 hours ahead
of Cassie (with a day shift). Sharon connected with the California cult
somehow?

Perth would be 5 hours behind Kololahi, so not really much difference to the
shift versus MA (except the other way, and without the day shift).
