Yes!  Thank you, Craig.  I think this clinches the Samson  explanation I was 
groping at.  I should have gone back, as you did, and  read the story again 
with Samson in mind.  I caught the "crashing down" bit  at the end and, of 
course, the "Sam" stuff, but I forgot all about  Manoe.
