I can hang with good ideas in poor form. 
Often, PKD's characters seem like cardboard cutouts, but the ideas blaze through.  Cripes, I just read all those Jean Auel books. Some great ideas and some terribly redundant writing.  I guess HP will be entertaining to read to my kid.
