I'll disagree on the basis of the many micro-connections that would need to
be carefully mended. As an analogy, it would be impressive to watch a
previously dead car brought back to life. But far more amazing to see the
car's engine violently ripped out by a crane and watch someone instantly
replace it, with all hoses, wires and supports repaired and
properly connected.
Dave Tallman notes:
>I still think there's something funny going on in that scene. Sev says
>"...I took up the sword. It was vary heavy," A little later he says "I
>remember that for a moment I feared it would overbalance me." Is this
>really a wooden batten no larger than an ordinary headsman's blade?
I agree that there are odd emphases Wolfe makes throughout the story
which seem to be hints that more than meets the eye is going on in a
scene. And mentioning the heaviness of the false sword could be an example
of that. I guess it could lead someone to assume a super-powered Catherine
but maybe there are other possibilities?
