Yep, Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge, IIRC. Made into a great short film, which was, again IIRC, used when "Twilight Zone" (the original) tried switching to a one hour format during one season.

Ambrose Bierce wrote a great short story on this theme, one of his truly
remarkable Civil War stories.

This spy was hanged, the rope broke, he fell into a river, fought his way
out and back home, was reunited with his sweetheart......
