I suppose my point was that SF is not (or at least is rarely) about
prediction. Rather, it is (more frequently) about contemporary
"reality," as viewed through the distorting/magnifying/reflecting
eye of significant differance. (And thereby hangs an entire
theoretical discussion which is more appropriate, perhaps, to a
Delany list than to this list...)
