Cassie appears to be much more honest in reporting things to Chase than 
to any other person. You can always count on her to lie, at least by 
omission, to anyone else. That might be post-hypnotic suggestion.

Here's another one I'm curious about, though it happens before the 
mountain hypnosis. Sharon tells Cassie that thinking about lipstick 
names puts her to sleep (p. 24). Then Aaberg tells her "Got to watch 
that one. It'll put you to sleep" (p. 30). Minutes later, she has fallen 
deeply asleep in Chase's car. Normally a person who goes out armed to a 
risky encounter in the middle of the night in a bad neighborhood with a 
stranger who might not be who they say they are wouldn't fall asleep 
just like that. Was some form of hypnotic suggestion involved?
