This makes me think of the Chinese curse: "May you

Oh, I don't know. I have a lot of affinity for
Christianity as my cultural base. It's as good a
religion as any. But it gets to be pretty tiresome in
fiction after a while.

"Stuff happened" is almost everything. "Someone made
stuff happen" is usually laid over it by people trying
to make sense of that "stuff". Christians hardly have
a lock on interesting fiction, nor are athiests
excluded from it.
