(urth) Akhkharu - who suck the blood of men

In a book by William Burroughs, "Cities of Red Night" I found the
following quotation "Akhkharu, who suck the blood of men since they
desire to become men".

Akhkharu are apparently Sumerian or Babylonian vampires, but I was
unable to learn anything else about them.
