Hunh.

It would not be the first time rock bands have based their work on 
SF classics. Aside from the umpty-million tributes. Genesis' song 
"Watcher of the Skies," for example, is supposedly a tribute to 
_Childhood's End_ (by way of Keats). Bowie's album "Diamond
Dogs" is a take on _Nineteen Eighty-Four_, as is _Listen Now_,
by 801 (a side project of Roxy Music's Phil Manzanera). Rush's
album _2112_ is loosely based on Ayn Rand's _Anthem_. Etc.
